Privacy policy

Each section opens with a plain sentence. The paragraph under it is the version that has to hold up legally. They say the same thing.
What we collect
Your email, what you type into the app, and basic usage logs.
We collect the email address you sign in with, the strategy descriptions and edits you enter, the results of tests you run, and standard technical logs such as IP address, browser and timestamps. If you sign in with Google, Apple or GitHub, we receive your email address and account identifier from them and nothing else.
What we do with it
Run your tests, keep your work, and keep the service up.
We use your data to operate the service: parsing your descriptions, running backtests, storing your strategies so they are there when you return, and sending you the sign in links and service notices you ask for. We use aggregate usage data to find where the product is failing people.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data or trade on your strategies.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not share your strategies with other users. We do not use your strategy content to trade, and we do not pass it to brokers, funds or any third party for their own purposes.
Who else touches it
Hosting, email and payment providers, under contract.
Your data passes through a small number of processors: cloud hosting for compute and storage, an email provider for sign in links and notices, and a payment processor if you subscribe. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. We do not send personal data to advertising networks.
How long we keep it
While your account is open, then 30 days.
Strategies and results are kept while your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your content within 30 days, other than records we are required to keep for tax and legal reasons. Technical logs are kept for 90 days.
Your rights
Export it, correct it, or delete it. Ask and it happens.
You can export your strategies and results at any time from account settings. You can ask us to correct or delete your personal data, or to stop processing it, by writing to hello@algolo.app. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies
One session cookie. No advertising trackers.
We set a cookie to keep you signed in and a small number of local storage entries to remember interface preferences such as your theme. We do not use advertising or cross site tracking cookies.
